    Des dizaines de migrants ont été libérés en Australie après des années passées dans les camps de rétention du Pacifique où Canberra reléguait les clandestins pour dissuader les demandeurs d'asile de tenter d'entrer sur l'île, ont annoncé ce mardi 2 mars des ONG. Plus d'une soixantaine de personnes ont été autorisées ces deux derniers jours à quitter des hôtels et centres de détention de Brisbane, Sydney et Darwin, selon la Coalition pour l'action pour les réfugiés ainsi que des avocats. Ils ont obtenu un titre de séjour temporaire après avoir passé jusqu'à huit ans pour certains dans des centres de rétention offshore. Ils avaient été transférés en Australie pour raisons médicales.Canberra a relégué pendant des années les clandestins tentant de gagner ses côtes vers des camps offshore financés sur l'île papouasienne de Manus ou dans le petit État de Nauru plus à l'Est, en application d'une politique d'immigration condamnée par les organisations de défense des droits de l'homme. Un premier groupe d'une soixantaine de personnes avait déjà été libéré en décembre et janvier.Le ministre australien de l'Intérieur Peter Dutton avait expliqué en janvier à la radio qu'il était moins cher de libérer les migrants que de les laisser en détention.
